The 3 Types Of Information Your Mortgage Broker Will Need To Get You A Loan

If you want to purchase a new home, you are going to need to work with a mortgage broker. A mortgage broker will help you get the financing you need to purchase a new home. However, in order for a mortgage broker to do their job, you will need to provide them with personal information, employment information, and financial information.

Personal Information

First, you will need to put down your full legal name, along with anyone else who is applying on the loan with you, such as your spouse. You are going to need to provide not just your social security number, but your actual social security card. If you don't have your social security card, you are going to want to request it as it can take a while to get to you.

You will also need to include your home addresses or address for the past two years. If you were renting the home, you'll need to provide the name of the landlord. If you had a mortgage, you'll need to provide the information for the mortgage lender.

Employment Information

Second, they are going to need your employment information for the past two years. That means two years' worth of W-2 forms. You will also need to provide a couple of recent pay stubs, as well as a statement of your year-to-date income so far.

If you are self- employed, you will need to provide your tax returns for the past two years for your business and personal tax returns. You will need to provide a profit and loss statement and a current balance sheet as well. Be prepared for the lender to ask for a lot of information if you are self-employed.

Financial Information

Finally, the bank is going to want a detailed accounting of your financial information. They are going to want information about all of your bank accounts and savings account, as well as up-to-date balances for each account. They are going to want to see statements from your checking and savings accounts that show all of your transactions.

If you have other sources of income or other assets, they will want information on that as well. Basically, you should gather information about anything of worth that you have.

If you want to get a loan for a home, you need to get all of your information together. Mortgage brokers will need in-depth information from you in order to proceed with getting you a loan.
